POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Develop and review electrical engineering designs and technical specifications. Prepare and review single-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, and equipment layouts. Perform electrical calculations, load studies, and equipment sizing. Support projects through concept design, feasibility studies, detailed engineering, commissioning, and handover. Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery. Participate in design reviews, technical evaluations, and risk assessments. Provide technical support during procurement, installation, and commissioning activities. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, and safety requirements. Support operational teams with troubleshooting, fault finding, and system optimisation. Prepare technical reports and engineering documentation. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 5-8 years' experience within mining, mineral processing, manufacturing, energy, or heavy industrial environments. Experience in electrical design, project execution, and engineering support. Strong knowledge of LV and MV electrical systems. Experience with power distribution systems, substations, motor control centres, transformers, and protection systems. Familiarity with relevant South African and international electrical standards. Experience with engineering software and design tools. Strong understanding of electrical safety principles and risk management. Professional registration with ECSA, or progress towards registration, will be advantageous. Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel when required.
