The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems for underground and surface mining machinery, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for mining vehicles (loaders, dump trucks, drills, etc.)
• Create and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts
• Select and specify electrical components (PLC systems, sensors, harnesses, control panels)
• Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers on integrated systems
• Ensure compliance with mining safety standards and regulations
• Support prototype builds, testing, and commissioning
• Troubleshoot and improve existing electrical systems in the field
• Prepare technical documentation and reports

🎓 Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 3–7 years’ experience in electrical design (mining or heavy equipment preferred)
• Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
• Knowledge of PLCs and control systems
• Understanding of mining equipment and harsh-environment design
• Familiarity with relevant standards (SANS, IEC, ISO)
