A leading engineering and technology organisation is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Engineer to join its multidisciplinary engineering team. The successful candidate will work across the mechanical, electrical, electronic and automation disciplines , supporting the design, development, integration, testing and commissioning of complex electromechanical systems and equipment. Key Responsibilities Design and develop electromechanical systems, machinery and equipment . Integrate mechanical, electrical, electronic and control-system components. Develop system architectures and engineering solutions for new products and equipment. Perform mechanical and electrical design calculations. Select motors, actuators, sensors, drives, controllers and other electromechanical components. Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and system documentation. Assist with PLC-based control system development and programming . Integrate PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, VSDs and other automation equipment. Support the development of machine-control architectures. Work closely with mechanical, electrical, electronic, software and manufacturing engineers. Produce and review engineering drawings, BOMs and technical documentation. Support prototype development, assembly and system integration. Conduct testing, validation and performance verification of systems. Perform fault-finding and root-cause analysis on mechanical, electrical and control-system problems. Participate in FAT, commissioning and site acceptance activities . Support installation and commissioning at customer sites when required. Optimise system performance, reliability and maintainability. Assist with design improvements, retrofits and product development. Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering, electrical and machine-safety standards. Provide technical support to production, service and maintenance teams. Maintain accurate engineering documentation and configuration records. Minimum Requirements BEng \/ BSc \/ BTech \/ BEngTech in: Mechatronic Engineering Electromechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electronic Engineering or a related discipline. 3-7 years' relevant engineering experience . Proven experience working with integrated mechanical and electrical systems. Strong understanding of industrial electrical and mechanical systems. Experience with PLC-based automation and control systems . Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Experience with engineering design and development processes. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Proficiency in CAD\/design software. Valid driver's licence. Technical Skills Experience with several of the following will be advantageous: PLC programming - Siemens, Allen-Bradley\/Rockwell, Beckhoff, Schneider or similar. HMI and SCADA systems. VSDs and servo drives. Motors and motion-control systems. Sensors and instrumentation. Pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Industrial communication networks. Control panels and electrical integration. Machine electrical architecture. Mechanical design and 3D CAD. EPLAN \/ AutoCAD Electrical. CAN Bus \/ J1939. Embedded control systems. Robotics and automation. Machine safety and functional safety. Key Responsibilities - System Integration The successful candidate will be expected to understand how the different engineering disciplines interact, including: Mechanical → Electrical → Controls → Software → Automation → Testing → Commissioning You will be required to identify interface issues between disciplines and develop practical engineering solutions that result in reliable, manufacturable and maintainable systems.
