POSITION INFO:
Position: Electronic Hardware Engineer
Location: Pretoria-East

Our client seeks an Electronic Engineer with proven skills in VHDL coding. International concern with offices in Pretoria.

Desired Experience & Qualification:

B.Eng. degree (electronic).
Minimum of at least 2 years solid FPGA (VHDL) design and implementation experience
At least 1 year Digital design experience

Preferred Skills:

Image processing
Xilinx based development
HDL designer development experience
Programming in Python / C# / C++
Matlab experience

Responsibilities:

Provide an Electronic Engineering service in the Electro-Optical field that includes the following tasks:

- Electronic and firmware design considerations
- Interfacing with other engineering disciplines and specialists in the optical, mechanical, electronic, software fields
- VHDL coding
- Lab testing and evaluation of produced designs
- Systems integration and testing with other engineering disciplines
- Version and configuration control of produced work items
- Testing, fault-finding and debugging on EO sub-system and system level
- Lead technical investigations using non-firmware methods in ex. Matlab, Python etc.
- Preparation of hardware implementations for serial production
