Electronic Hardware Engineer (Altium Designer)

We have a Super Exciting opportunity for an Electronic Hardware Engineer to design Electronic Components in the Commercial/Scientific Sector, Jhb

POSITION INFO:

Qualification Essential:

• B-Eng or BSc degree in Electronic Engineering

Technical and Specialist Skill requirements:

• 3-years’ experience PCB electronic design
• Proficiency in Altium Designer work environment
• Digital, Analogue and RF experience essential
• Experience with the use of Electronic Test and Measurement Equipment
• Experience in an Electronic Simulation Environment
• Fault Finding to component level
• Understanding of Schematics
• Knowledge of EMI & Safety Standards
• Strong soldering ability

Key Accountabilities:

• Design electronic components, products, or systems for commercial, industrial, or scientific applications
• Develop maintenance and testing procedures for electronic components and equipment
• Evaluate systems and recommend design modifications or equipment repair
• Ability to build prototypes by hand
• Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to ensure they meet safety standards and regulations
• Plan and develop applications and modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems to improve technical performance
• Analyse the needs of internal customers to determine system requirements and the cost of developing electronic system plans
• Conduct system evaluations and make appropriate recommendations to modify designs or repair equipment as needed
• Identify and recommend system improvements to improve technical performance
• Define and execute testing and maintenance procedures for electronic software and components
• Inspect electronics to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards
