SUMMARY:
Be part of taking a breakthrough energy technology from prototype to the national grid! Our client seeks. an Electrical & Controls Engineer to join a cutting-edge research and development project now entering its final phase before commercialisation.
This position sits at the intersection of electrical engineering, control systems, R&D, and field testing—ideal for an engineer who thrives in hands-on environments and wants to contribute directly to a world-first innovation.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

BEng/BSc/BTech in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Power Systems, or Control Systems.
ECSA registration (or in progress).
Specialisation in power systems, power electronics, or control systems advantageous.
2–5+ years in power systems, grid integration, renewable energy, or control systems engineering.
Exposure to prototypes, R&D environments, test rigs, or experimental technologies is highly advantageous.
Strong understanding of grid-tied systems, synchronisation, protection, and grid-code compliance.
Experience with inverters, converters, and power electronics controllers.
Control systems knowledge: PID tuning, feedback/feedforward, safety interlocks, automation, state machines.
PLC programming or embedded control logic (advantageous).
Experience with SCADA/HMI systems and industrial instrumentation.
Strong understanding of fault levels, protection relays, and MV/LV systems.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and system models.
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, or similar tools is beneficial.
