SUMMARY:
Purpose of the Job:

Distribution Overhead Power Line Designs.
Transmission OHL knowledge would be beneficial.
Knowledge of OHL design simulation tools and structural analysis.
Understanding Civil and Geotechnical reporting.

Key Performance Areas (KPA’s):

Design a product for the client that details all the technical aspects of the design.
Proficient in PLS-Cadd, PLS-Tower, and PLS-Pole.
Design method 4 towers in PLS-Tower and analyze the load cases. Creating and editing drawings using CAD software.
Serve as line design technical professional in providing consultation and guidance to project teams.
Present at the design committees within the specified timelines to ensure on-time delivery of the final design.
Conceptualize the design and discuss it with the client for first approval or gain buy-in.
Suggest designs that will meet clients’ requirements with minimum costs.
Validate all design aspects and processes of all designs.
Manages project design within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

BSC Engineering or B Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Professional registration with ECSA is preferred.
Overhead Power Lines Design experience.

Other competencies and requirements:

3-5 years’ experience high voltage substations and/or overhead line Civil.
