An established company and market leader in the manufacturing of Canola oil and related products in the retail, food services, and bulk sectors, =is looking for an Engineering Manager in Swellendam.
Job Purpose:
The primary responsibility of this role is to plan, organize and direct the Engineering Department to meet company objectives and to ensure optimal efficiency. You will be responsible for OHS, ensuring provisions to the Act and Regulations associated.
Responsibilities:
• Plant Process and Maintenance
o Acquiring plant and process knowledge to become a plant specialist within the edible oil industry.
o By initiating continuous factory process improvement.
o Actively engage and provide the necessary support to ensure an efficient plant.
o Develop and drive effective performance and reporting requirements.
o Oversee the effective maintenance and planning of the plant.
o Actively being involved with the Maintenance Team.
o Ensure coordination between maintenance and project work planning.
• Management Compliance
o Appointed as the designated GMR 2.1 for the plant.
o Ensure that the provisions of the Act and these regulations adhere to.
o Responsible for the compiling and management of the Engineering budget.
o Ensure relevant policies and procedures are in place and adhered to.
o Ensure that Health and Safety standards are adhered to and effectively implemented.
o Management of standard policies according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
Team Management and Support
o Lead, assist and mentor the Maintenance Team.
o Ensure that all members of the team have clearly defined performance indicators.
o Reviewed and adjusted these performance indicators continuously.
o Ensure that relevant policies and procedures are adhered to.
o Responsible for the day-to-day management of the relevant teams.
REQUIREMENTS
• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering - GCC Recommended
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience is a requirement
• Working experience in Engineering Maintenance within the Food Industry
• Experience in plant maintenance in a Food Processing Plant is an advantage
• Sound ability to read and interpret Technical Drawings and Electrical Schematics
• Hands-on approach to Engineering and Management with a practical approach
• Experience with high-speed bottling and packaging equipment will be an advantage
• Experience with Health and Safety in a Manufacturing environment is essential
