SUMMARY:
International company with offices in Europe USA and China. Engineering (software) Manager (Cape Town) required to lead a team of highly intelligent computer and electronic Engineers.. Management and mentorship skills required. On a technical level we need a more hands on manager with proven skills in embedded, firmware design and networking and application for security systems.

POSITION INFO:

Development Manager (Electronic or Computer Engineering)

Cape Town

International company with design hub in Cape Town

Product development. The ideal person will have an Electronic engoineering design background with skills in embedded design, firmware design, databases and networking lnowledge. Skills in Network security and encryption beneficial

Qualification and Experience required:

Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering
5-10 years proven managerial/ Mentorship skills
Proficient programming skills (C/C++), understanding of scripting languages , Familiarity with databases and networking - Must have UNix/Linux skills!
Ability to manage multi-disciplined team
Highly energetic
Ability to function in a highly stressfull and deadline driven environment

Responsibilities:

Management of operational staff (Design team)
Plan activities and maintain schedules
Managing and leading teams in Hardware, C/C++, embedded firmware, Field Application Engineering, Performance and QA Testing, Product and Project Management, Market Research and Analysis
understanding of development on Linux/Unix
Manage deadline and associated activities
Liaison with oversees clients and manage relationships
Liaison with co-development company
Managing sub-contracting agreements
