SUMMARY:
We are recruiting a Software Engineering Manager with strong Backend development expertise to join our team on-site in Cape Town.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide a talented engineering team and drive delivery excellence across complex backend-focused products and systems.

POSITION INFO:

What You Will Do

Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing backend engineering team.
Manage end-to-end delivery of software products—design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
Oversee backend architecture and development using C#/.NET and PostgreSQL.
Implement DevOps practices to improve automation, reliability, and delivery speed.
Align roadmaps and technical decisions with business priorities.
Remove delivery blockers, manage risks, and ensure high-quality engineering outputs.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery and adoption.

What You Bring

A relevant IT/Software/Engineering Diploma or Degree.
8–10 years experience in software engineering.
Strong Backend development experience with:
â C#/.NET
â PostgreSQL
â DevOps tools and practices
Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams.
Ability to drive delivery, optimise processes, and improve engineering maturity.
Strong communication, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills.
