SUMMARY:
Equity Analyst for a leading Wealth and Financial Planning firm
POSITION INFO:
In this Johannesburg-based role at one of the biggest and longest-standing Wealth & Financial Planning firms in the country, you will take leadership of Equity research production for both South African and International Listed Equities in the Financial Services space.
The role will incorporate substantial aspects of oversight, production, quantitative understanding, and training of the more junior team members.
Successful applicants will demonstrate exceptional analysis and valuation skills of financial institution clients
Duties of Equity Analyst:
- Financial analysis (of company statements, etc)
- Financial modelling (building from scratch, and maintaining)
- Making evaluations of future performance of potential investment company, through evaluation of past-performance
- Performance analysis (via Data Analysis)
- Finally, demonstrate outstanding attention to detail at all times
Preference is for a B.Com Investment Management with 2 - 3 years post-graduate work experience, with CFA
Charterholder/CFA Level III, although CFA Level II will also be considered.
Non-negotiable:
- Candidates must have analysed Financial Services/Financial Institutions equities
- Applications are open to candidates with CFA Level II already completed as a minimum (CFA Level III preferred)
- Leadership experience (this can include during CA(SA) Articles)
- Advanced MS Excel & VBA highly advantageous, in line with statistical and modelling aspects of role
