SUMMARY:
Our Client is looking for an Estate Landscaping Manager who will be entrusted with the maintenance, operation, and management of landscaping areas on the estate.

POSITION: ESTATE LANDSCAPING MANAGER

AREA:  HEIDELBERG

CTC: R 70,000.00 PM & COMPANY VEHICLE

START DATE: APRIL / MAY 2021

EE/AA: ALL

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Horticulture qualification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Landscaping managerial role
  • Ability to manage a large team, approx. 100 team members
  • Excellent ability to communicate, computer skills
  • Advance problem-solving abilities, knowledge of labour relations and Health & Safety requirements.

 

DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Liaise closely with Clients and Sub-contractors. 
  • Resource planning 
  • Attend site meeting with Clients and provide advice on the plants suitability and minor designing work. 
  • Preparation and submission of weekly and monthly progress reports. 
  • Tracking of work progress to ensure projects are completed on time. 
  • Attend site briefing, tender interviews and prepare quotations and tenders, etc. 
  • Manage a team of supervisors and deploy work for the areas under your charge to ensure smooth operations. 
  • The Project Manager has authority to terminate employment of subordinates after liaising with Head office & Labour consultant and following well established company disciplinary procedures.
  • Interviews, trains, direct and supervise a staff of employees for the purpose of maintaining the properties.
  • Plans all maintenance and project work, applying his or her agronomic and administrative expertise to achieve the agreed upon maintenance standards and long-range goals.
  • Oversees the scheduling and routing of personnel and equipment to accomplish the work. The Project Manager frequently inspects the Estate and related areas to evaluate how well management standards are being achieved and to effect changes in management programme. All major changes to existing operations must be communicated and approved by the Directors first before implementation thereof.
  • Acquires equipment and purchases necessary supplies to maintain the Estate and other properties within the perimeter of the set budget. The Project Manager is responsible for inventory control and oversees the equipment maintenance programmes. The Project Manager approves all expenditures and exercises cost control measures to keep, as nearly as possible, operating and capital expenses in line with the approved budgets.
  • Keeps accurate and complete records on inventory, weather data, maintenance procedures, pesticide applications, company administrative policies and procedures, environmental policies, etc.
