Estimator

SUMMARY:
Seeking an Estimator for a Manufacturing / Production concern to join their pre-production department.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:
- Grade 12/Matric with Mathematics and/or accounting as subjects
- Estimating experience: minimum 3 – 5 years
- Relevant Degree or Diploma (Advantageous)
- Proficient Computer Literacy - Microsoft Office Suite, Coreldraw, AutoCad (Beneficial), Odoo System ADV.
(Preferred Signage Estimation Experience)

Responsibilities:
- Estimate cost, material, and labour for projects, after meticulous analysis of project specifications and documentation.
- Computes costs by analyzing Labour, material and time requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation.
- Track changes to the design and/or installation work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
- Procure or agree on the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project – calculate & provide outwork allowables.
- Select and/or source construction materials – for optimum production methods.
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Engage and manage sub-contractor and internal team expenses (i.e., up country trips).

Skill Set Requirements:
- Mathematical Proficiency.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Be financially savvy.
- Good understanding of quality control principles.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- A good working knowledge of MS Excel
- Ability to fully understand and read technical drawings.
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work in a team & independently.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills both internally and Externally.
