Salary: R1,5 m – R1.8 per annum

The successful candidate will likely be a seasoned architect-turned-executive who has moved past individual contribution and now finds professional satisfaction in systemic optimization. They should be as comfortable discussing "defect density" and "cloud cost-optimization" with their leads as they are discussing "business ROI" and "risk mitigation" with the Board.

Role Core Identity

• The Executive Head acts as the technical visionary and operational anchor. This role is not just about writing code; it is about building the systems—and the teams—that build the code.
• Primary Objective: Delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance software aligned with corporate strategy.
• Dual Focus: Balancing Innovation (new tech, cloud maturity) with Governance (QA, POPIA compliance, risk mitigation).
• Methodological Pillars: Agile (Scrum) and DevOps.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• This is a senior-tier position requiring a minimum of 15 combined years of experience.
• Education: Honors Degree (NQF 8) in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Leadership: At least 5 years in a formal leadership role; 10+ years in .NET SDLC management.
• Preferred: PMP certification, Cloud Architect certifications (AWS/Azure), and experience in highly regulated environments (Banking/Fintech).

Technical Ecosystem

• The ideal candidate must be a polyglot leader comfortable in a complex, multi-stack environment:
• Back-End/Core: Deep expertise in .NET (C#), Java, Python, and Node.js.
• Database/Web: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Angular, Flutter, and Web APIs (JSON).
• Infrastructure/DevOps: Kubernetes (AKS/EKS), Docker, Git, and Cloud Architecture (AWS/Azure).
• Specialized Knowledge: High Availability (HA) clustered environments and Financial Technology (Fintech) regulations.

Behavioural Competencies

• Strategic Thinking: Evaluating how a technical choice today impacts the business 3 years from now.
