CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

The core purpose of this post is management assistance to the office of the Executive Dean and Deputy Dean by providing professional secretarial and administrative support in terms of budget administration and monitoring, general and project administration functions, internal and external public relations liaison.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Perform office and other general administration functions within the office of the Executive Dean: Law and Deputy Dean: Law
• Financial administration functions
• Internal and external public relations and liaison

CORE COMPETENCIES

• Possess a thorough knowledge of ITS, Zoom, MS Teams and Microsoft Office (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and excellent typing skills
• Have appropriate knowledge and experience in office administration functions particularly relating to finances
• Possess outstanding organisational skills
• Have excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to use own initiative, work independently and under pressure
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Have strong written and oral communication skills
• Have a good understanding of project administration and applicable software
• Adherence to the values of Nelson Mandela University

REQUIREMENTS

In order to be considered for appointment, candidates must possess a Matric (Grade 12) as well as at least three (3) years’ experience at a Higher Education Institution in which competency has been gained.
