Expert Level .Net Developer (with Cloud)

Permanent

Remote (offices based in Cape Town for those who prefer the office)

An opportunity for a confident Principal / Expert Engineer has opened up within a growing Fintech company – a purpose driven organisation who are passionate about helping small and medium enterprises succeed.

This level is an extension above and beyond our Senior Developer

This individual will be responsible for implementing and supporting software components in their tech stack.

The companies’ platform is based on the Microsoft stack and is hosted in the cloud.

We are looking for a person who is confident at taking ownership of services and applications at scale, who can help improve operations by conducting systems analysis, implement changes in procedures and get our team where it needs to go.

Responsibilities will include:

• Working closely with our Architect during the software development lifecycle, you will help align and contribute to our tech roadmap to ensure we are poised to achieve our ambitious growth plans
• Continuously evaluating team progress and ready to make changes, pivot or redirect in order to solve complex problems or remove bottlenecks
• Ensuring cross-collaboration and communication with our Architect, domain teams, internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and that we are on track to achieve our goals
• Taking the lead on knowledge sharing and acting as a role model by consistently sharing your insights and know-how
• Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of current tools and keeping up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends and best practices
• Mentoring, coaching and advising junior, intermediate and senior Engineers in the team in order to support their and the teams development and upskilling

REQUIREMENTS

• A relevant tertiary level qualification (BSc in Computer Science, BTech, BEng), or equivalent
• Honours and/or Master’s degree an added advantage
• Proven expert in at least one or more fields related to our technologies
• At the forefront of emerging technologies and a track record of experience to predict and adapt to where some technologies are heading
• Intimate knowledge of the underpinning architecture of technologies/their tooling and or systems
• An active member in the Tech community who contributes and makes an impact
• Strong technical skills across Azure cloud, Infrastructure, .NET Core, C#, SQL Server, MVC, Microservices, Serverless components, Distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, messaging, EDA, scripting, Durable functions

This position is an extension above and beyond our Senior Developer position which requires:

• 6+ years experience in object oriented development (Preferably C# MVC)
• Solid experience in test-driven development
• Exposure to front-end scripting technologies (Javascript, Jquery, React)
• Exposure to micro-services and/or service oriented architecture
• Exposure to cloud based environments (Preferably Azure)
• Exposure to database design
• Exposure to Agile development
• Exposure to source control (e.g Git)
• Broad experience designing, documenting, programming, testing, and implementing large scale systems
• Ability to provide in-depth evaluation and analysis of unique complex technological issues
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Persistent with a desire to deliver
• Passionate about tech
• Excellent organisation and time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example
• People and leadership skills, able to step into a Team Lead role when needed
