POSITION INFO:
Technical Sales Representative Material Handling Location: Pomona, Gauteng Industry: Material Handling \/ Warehouse Equipment Salary: R35,000 - R45,000 Basic per month + Benefits & Incentives Key Responsibilities Identify and develop new business opportunities within the material handling and warehouse equipment market Generate leads, prospect for new customers and build a strong sales pipeline Manage and grow an existing customer base Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers Understand customers' operational requirements and recommend appropriate material handling solutions Conduct customer site visits and assess equipment requirements Prepare quotations, proposals and pricing for customers Present and demonstrate equipment and solutions to prospective customers Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within approved parameters Follow up on quotations and actively drive opportunities through to close Maintain regular contact with customers and identify opportunities for additional business Work closely with internal operations, service and technical teams to ensure customer requirements are met Monitor competitor activity, pricing and developments within the market Provide management with regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates and market feedback Achieve agreed monthly and annual sales targets Minimum Requirements 5+ years' sales experience , preferably within the material handling industry Direct experience selling material handling, forklift, warehouse equipment or related solutions is essential Strong business development and new-business generation experience Proven track record of achieving sales targets Good understanding of warehouse and logistics operations Ability to understand customer requirements and recommend suitable equipment or solutions Strong negotiation and closing skills Excellent communication and relationship-building ability Professional and confident when dealing with customers at all levels Computer literate and comfortable working with CRM and sales reporting systems Valid driver's licence Willing and able to travel to customer sites as required Relevant Industry Experience Candidates with sales experience involving some of the following would be well suited: Forklifts and lift trucks Reach trucks Pallet trucks and stackers Order pickers Warehouse and materials handling equipment Loading and handling solutions Fleet or equipment rental solutions Material handling equipment servicing and maintenance contracts Warehouse equipment and related solutions Ideal Candidate We are looking for an established material handling sales professional who knows the market and understands how to develop business within warehousing, logistics, distribution and industrial environments. The successful candidate should be commercially driven, proactive and comfortable spending time in the field developing relationships and identifying new opportunities rather than relying solely on incoming enquiries.
