External Sales Engineer - Generator Sets

POSITION INFO:
Duties: Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers Identify and generate new sales opportunities within the designated territory Promote and sell generator sets, Power Kits, services, repairs, refurbishments, upgrades, and parts Conduct regular customer visits according to scheduled calling plans Recognize new market opportunities and develop strategies to expand sales Prepare quotations, follow up on enquiries, and negotiate orders to closure Develop customer budgets, sales potential, and profitability estimates Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall business growth Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate generator and power solutions Assist customers with technical queries and solutions development Interpret customer requirements to recommend suitable equipment Develop a comprehensive understanding of generator applications and power systems Communicate technical requirements related to generator installations Support product launches, exhibitions, and trade shows Maintain accurate and current customer information and sales records Monitor competitor products, pricing, and strategies Identify emerging market trends and new business opportunities Ensure exceptional customer service and follow-through on requirements Prepare and submit monthly sales reports Maintain accurate sales pipelines and customer databases Participate in regular sales and project meetings Follow up promptly on quotations and customer enquiries Requirements: Matric certificate and\/or formal electrical qualification – A recognised Electrical Trade will be advantageous Electrical Diploma or N3 qualification will be advantageous. Minimum of 5 years' experience in the generator industry Proven track record in generator and power systems sales Strong external\/customer-facing sales experience Experience with diesel generators and\/or power generation solutions Proficiency in sales, negotiation, and merchandise presentation Business development and analytical skills Familiarity with the following: Power generation equipment Diesel generators Power systems and applications
