External Sales Representative

Job Summary
You’ll interact with both new and existing customers, understand their packaging needs, and manage the sales process from prospecting to after-sales support.

This role requires someone who’s client-centric, target-driven, and passionate about building value-driven relationships that lead to consistent growth.

• Interact with current and new customers, conduct needs analysis, and build/manage a growing customer base
• Deliver excellent customer service in Gauteng and surrounding areas
• Achieve monthly and annual business targets

Basic Qualifications/ Requirements:
To thrive in this role, you’ll need more than just experience — we’re looking for someone who brings strategic thinking, relationship-building ability, and a winning mindset.

• Bachelor of Commerce, Sales, or Commercial qualification
• 5 years'' proven experience in a sales, marketing, or business development rol.
• Preference will be given for experience in the paper, corrugated, packaging, or FMCG industry
• The capacity to flourish in a competitive environment
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate and build rapport with clients and teams
• Customer-centric approach, with the ability to communicate at all levels
• Ability to manage risks and think critically
• Confident in communicating with influence and driving conversations toward value
• A clear drive for results and performance excellence
• Solid business and financial acumen
• Fluent in English
• A sound technical understanding and the ability to solve customer-related problems with practical solutions
• Valid driver’s licence

Your key responsibilities will be:
This role calls for someone with strong functional abilities, a sharp eye for opportunity, and the emotional intelligence to nurture relationships and drive business outcomes.

• Executing of the annual sale plan in terms of volume, revenue, and profitability
• Building solid customer partnerships, including corporate and multi-national clients
• Gathering market intelligence by performing market research to identify opportunities
• Understanding customer requirements, offering technical support and solution selling
• Actively building and expanding the area sales footprint
• Building, maintaining and managing excellent supplier relations
• Handling the resolution of customer complaints
• Achieving selling price targets and annual price increases
• Acting as the key interface between the customer and all relevant internal divisions
• Preparing and presenting Sales Reports
• Ensuring timely and correct deliveries to customers
• Supporting innovation and product development
• Delivering marketing presentations and business reviews to key stakeholders
