FARM MAINTENANCE MANAGER

SUMMARY:
Krugersdorp / Tarlton Area – Gauteng: Our client is looking for a Farm Maintenance Manager to join the team.
 
The successful candidate will be overseeing and managing the maintenance operations on the farm. The primary objective is to ensure that all farm machinery, equipment, buildings, and infrastructure are well-maintained and in good working condition to support the farm's productivity and efficiency.
 
Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered.

POSITION INFO:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Agricultural Diploma/Degree advantageous.
• A mechanical/maintenance qualification will be an advantage.
• At least 5 years previous experience in farm maintenance.
• Proven experience in maintaining the following:
• General maintenance
• Electrical (Pivots & Pump motors)
• Welding
• Pumps (Installation, Repairs, Alignments)
• Servicing of tractors
• Extensive repair and maintenance knowledge of farm equipment including tillage machinery, planters, sprayers, harvesters, and irrigation equipment.
• 5 Years leadership and management experience.
• MS Office and Advanced Excel Skills.
• Valid driver’s license

• Technical knowledge on farm machinery, equipment, and infrastructure, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
• Mechanical skills on repairs and maintenance of various types of farm equipment, such as tractors, planters, harvesters, irrigation systems, and vehicles.
• Electrical skills on electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting to address electrical problems on the farm.
• Problem-solving ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• Supervising and leading all maintenance processes and operations.
• Operational commissioning and setting of all Equipment and upholding standards.
• Tracking expenses and overseeing the budget for maintenance.
• Maintaining all machinery to ensure it’s at working standards.
• Upholding administrative processes around work management
• Maintaining Supplier and contractor relations
• Upholding CILT standards.
• Developing and Executing Preventative Maintenance schedules.
• Creating and implementing maintenance procedures.
• Conducting regular inspections of the farming equipment to detect and resolve problems.
• Planning and managing all repair and installation activities.
• Ensuring all department workers adhere to the safety policies and procedures.
• Assigning repair schedules and evaluating repair cost estimates.
• Documenting and preparing daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
• Overseeing equipment stock and placing orders for new supplies when necessary.
• Health and Safety Compliance.
• Managing a team of maintenance staff, providing guidance, assigning tasks, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

• Root cause analysis Evaluations.
