SUMMARY:
Johannesburg – Gauteng: International travel is required with this exciting opportunity in a senior management level

POSITION INFO:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

·         Degree educated (preferably agriculture, food science or finance/commerce) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in farming, agriculture or technologist background essential.

·         Understanding of GAP, Food Safety Management systems, including HACCP, BRC and/or other food safety management systems (essential).

·         Experience in managing teams locally and by proxy and working cross functionally

 

Key Responsibilities: Leading the following activities:

 

  1. 1.    Aligning/balancing internal and external stakeholders on
  • Commercial
  • Purpose
  • Marketing to support the growth of Company Farms both internally and externally
  • Food (QA)
  • Heritage (shareholder activity to support Company Farms as the cornerstone of the company)
  1. 2.    Strategy, budget and P&L management including
  • Budget planning
  • Business performance review with regional suppliers
  • Structure, communication and quarterly review/optimisation
  • If required, structure and submit application for finance for farming organisations
  1. 3.    Food safety standards & quality control
  • Structuring and implementation of country specific company food safety standards project rollout
  • Product specifications (microbial, chemical, pesticides, colour, Azodyes, moisture, HPLC SHU)
  • Consistency of product
  • QA
  • Innovation and NPD for products sold globally in retail globally by our FMCG business
  1. 4.    Socio-economic impact reporting
  • Economic model design and optimisation
  • Responsible for theory of change design
  • Impact survey architectural design
  • Providing training to employees to help with our measurement tool aligned with an external business
  • Demonstrating the purpose driven work to the broader business community
  • Host Mozambique/brand heritage tours through brand immersion
  • Facilitate brand building tours and develop on-Farms experience
  1. 5.    Implement and monitor digital tracking platform
  • Development
  • Training of Farm Extension Officers
  • Technical support
  • Supply demand planning and tracking

                                  i.    Specific regional production planning and tracking

                                 ii.    Management of company IP chain

                                iii.    Overall control of side-selling

  1. 6.    Seed development
  • Research and trial design
  • Advancement of exclusivity agreement
  • Driving corporate governance throughout value chain
  • Advance and manage further vertical integration into raw materials

                                  i.    Seed development

                                 ii.    Procurement

                                iii.    Economic modelling

  1. 7.    Socio-economic impact monitoring and baseline studies
  • Company architectural design selection, logistics and execution (training and preparation)
  • Cyclical development
  1. 8.    People/Heritage
  • Bridging the gap between brand provenance and broader company business
  • Conceptualizing and establishing company brand heritage engagement platforms
