FIELD RESEARCH TECHNICIAN

SUMMARY:
Johannesburg – Gauteng: To help the Agronomist and Technical Manager: Strategy and Agronomy (TM) in all their duties within the goals and values of the company, contributing for all the processes involved, helping on the service for the distribution system and its territory of operation, being technical reference and collaborate with the different areas of the company

POSITION INFO:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• BAgric or BTech in Agriculture (Soil Science, Horticulture, Plant Physiology, Agronomy, or a combination of these relevant fields)
• Proven experience in field trials management
• Knowledge of the methodology for assembling, conducting, and harvesting fields trials
• Knowledge of presentation techniques in a clear and assertive way
• Approved in BASOS (FERTASA)
• Approved in AFCASA
• Drivers’ license
• MS Office advanced skills (mainly Power Point and Excel)

Duties and responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Establish relationship with customers and employees based on the values defined by the company
• Accomplishing periodic visits to distributors and customers, aiming to understand the needs and offer solutions after analysis and propose solutions aligned with the Agronomist and TM
• Helping on prospecting new customers in the region and make an initial analysis with support Agronomist and TM to support business strategy
• Support the distributor management with the guidance of the AGRONOMIST and TM
• Support the AGRONOMIST and TM on the execution of the Company’s Action Plan within the quality standards established by the company
• Help to accomplish the sales process: making quick deliveries within the necessary time aiming to increase sales and satisfy customers
• Help to ensure the assembling demonstration trials, manage the development, applications and harvest with excellence, sending the results to the company and customers with support of the departments involved in these processes
• Contributing to the flow of information between customers and the company, anticipating problems and actively participating in discussions of alternative solutions with AGRONOMIST, TM, Management and departments of the company (team work)
• Submitting timely reports (activities, visits and flows) and prior weekly schedule of activities to ensure business strategy
• Contributing to collaboration with all departments of the company: meet deadlines with quality, share results and good practices, have critical analysis and communication initiative to increase team work
• To qualify technically aiming to become a reference in the region
• Contributing with knowledge dissemination through capacity building actions for the distribution system, end users and influencers in their region of operation, aligned with AGRONOMIST and TM

Key Performance Indicators:

• Help the AGRONOMIST to reach Sale´s budget in Rands and Liters
• Quantity of field trials installed
• Quality of management, quantity and quality of result compiled
• Help to established new customers
• Number of shared activities and help to your partner
• Improvements on required knowledge (plant nutrition, physiology, soil science, crops management, field trial´s statistic)
• Improvement on product’s knowledge
