POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose

Supervise and control the day-to-day accounting and financial activities of the business. To provide an analysis into the performance and financial position of the business and to provide financial information to the various functions, enabling budgeting and investment decisions. The accounting and financial activities will include reporting on costs, productivity, margins, and company expenditures. The accountant is also responsible for the provision of monthly reports (profit and loss as well as balance sheet) in accordance with group guidelines and timescales.

Key Result Areas/Principal Responsibilities

• Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Payroll maintenance and management – SAP pay roll system
• Management Reporting
• Completion of Statutory Returns
• Accounts Receivable
• Fixed Assets
• Stock – process stock purchases, recons and year end stock counts
• Cashbook reconciliation and Petty Cash
• Preparation of all Journals
• Intercompany – Recons and Foreign currency and export transactions
• Payments – Authorise, allocations and EFT payment authorisation
• Bank Account – oversee offshore payment process and treasury management
• Cost control – report on variances, monitor costs (Cell phones and credit card expenses)
• People/Team Management

Key Requirements

• 3 – 5 years successful experience in a similar financial role
• BCom (Accounting/Financial management)
• Preferably Completed CA(SA) Articles / CIMA articles (verified relevant work-based practical experience)
• Experience and knowledge of SAP is essential
• Computer literate – MS Word, Excel, Access, and database software
• Knowledge/exposure to CAMS/EFT payment systems (ABSA)
• Fluent in English
• Knowledge/exposure to One Stream /Hyperion reporting systems would be advantageous
