SUMMARY:
My client, a well-established organisation operating within the mining sector, is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team based in Illovo.

POSITION INFO:

This role offers full ownership of the end-to-end finance function, exposure to executive and Board-level reporting, and monthly travel to the Northern Cape.

Key Responsibilities:

Full end-to-end finance function management
Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
VAT submissions and statutory compliance
Preparation of Board packs and management reporting
Leading and managing audit processes
Cross-functional finance support to operational and commercial teams
Balance sheet management and reconciliations
Month-end close processes and cash flow oversight
Continuous improvement of financial controls, systems, and reporting

Job Experience and Skills Required:

BCom degree (essential)
CA(SA) qualification (essential)
Minimum of 5 years' experience
Proven experience within the mining industry
Strong Sage Accounting experience
Advanced Excel skills
Strong technical accounting knowledge
Ability to engage confidently with senior management and board-level stakeholders
Willingness and ability to travel once a month to the Northern Cape
