SUMMARY:
Walvis Bay area – Namibia: The Financial Manager is accountable for ensuring the financial health, integrity and sustainability of the company’s operations in Namibia, spanning both the Mining and Freight Business lines.
The role operates at a tactical to operational level, partnering closely with country and site-based operational leaders across both business lines to drive financial performance, disciplined working capital management, cost control and proactive risk management in a capital-intensive environment.
POSITION INFO:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline (NQF 7 or higher) Professional qualification (CA (SA), CIMA or ACCA) or active progress towards professional registration is advantageous. Minimum 5-8 years of progressive financial experience, with at least 3 years in a Financial Manager or equivalent role Experience in mining, agriculture, logistics or other asset-intensive operational environments is advantageous. Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, working capital management, and statutory compliance. Exposure to multi-business-line financial management within a single country or jurisdiction is advantageous. Knowledge of Nambian statutory and regulatory requirements, including labour law, SSC, taxation and foreign exchange controls, is preferred. Strong people management and stakeholder engagement capability. TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED Advanced knowledge and application IFRS Financial planning, and analysis in multi-business-line environments Financial modelling design and review Management accounting, and financial reporting Working capital and cash flow management in capital-intensive operations Balance sheet management and asset register oversight (including heavy equipment) Internal controls design, audit coordination and statutory compliance. Namibian statutory knowledge: Companies Act, Labour Act, SSC, Income Tax Act, VAT, and mining-specific fiscal requirements Financial systems proficiency and advanced Excel-based financial analysis KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO Financial Planning & Performance Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling across Mining and Freight Analyse performance, identify risks and drive cost control and efficiency. Manage working capital and cash flow to ensure operational sustainability. Reporting & Operations Support Deliver weekly, monthly and Group financial reporting in line with IFRS. Support operations with financial insights (costing, margins, project tracking) Maintain asset registers and oversee audit processes. Governance & Compliance Ensure compliance with Namibian regulations (Tax, VAT, SSC, Labour Act) Manage financial risks including currency, contract and cost volatility. Implement and maintain strong financial controls. Strategic & Continuous Improvement Support capital investment decisions and new business initiatives. Drive process improvements and financial system optimisation. Align reporting with divisional and Group standards. Leadership Lead and develop the Namibia finance team. Embed a high-performance, compliant and countable culture.
