An established and growing group of businesses operating in the professional services, financial services and healthcare sectors is seeking to appoint a Financial Manager to join its leadership team.

The successful candidate will work closely with executive management and play a key role in ensuring strong financial control, reporting accuracy, operational efficiency and strategic decision-making across the group.

While a finance team is responsible for much of the day-to-day processing and transactional activities, this remains a hands-on role where approximately 70% of time will be dedicated to financial management, reporting, controls and oversight, with the remaining 30% focused on business partnering, commercial analysis, process improvement and strategic initiatives.

POSITION INFO:
RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Management & Reporting Review and oversee monthly accounting processes and financial reporting Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information across multiple entities Review reconciliations, journals, management accounts and supporting schedules Manage month-end and year-end reporting processes Assist with annual financial statements and statutory reporting requirements Oversee budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management Monitor working capital and liquidity requirements Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation and internal controls Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, banks and external stakeholders Financial Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor and develop members of the finance team Review work prepared by junior finance staff and provide guidance where required Improve financial processes, controls and reporting efficiencies Drive accountability and financial discipline throughout the organisation Commercial & Strategic Finance Partner with executive management on financial and operational decision-making Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth Analyse profitability, margins, costs and business performance Develop meaningful management information and performance dashboards Evaluate new business opportunities, projects and investments Participate in strategic planning, forecasting and business improvement initiatives Assist with mergers, acquisitions, expansion projects or special assignments where required MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Newly qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or CIMA qualification Or Completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles And 3 - 5 years' post-article experience preferred Strong financial accounting and management reporting experience Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong understanding of financial controls, budgeting and forecasting Experience working across multiple entities will be advantageous Experience within professional services, healthcare, financial services or multi-entity environments will be beneficial COMPETENCIES Strong technical accounting ability Commercially minded with strong business acumen Hands-on and willing to operate at both strategic and operational levels Analytical and detail-oriented Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the business Proactive, self-driven and solutions focused High levels of integrity, accountability and professionalism THE OPPORTUNITY This role offers a unique opportunity for a high-potential finance professional to broaden their experience beyond traditional accounting and reporting functions.
