The successful incumbent will consistently strive for a beneficial working relationship between our client and their FMCG suppliers.
POSITION INFO:
You will also be responsible for communicating between our FMCG suppliers and their team ensuring that new and current orders are flawlessly executed. FMCG procurement a fast moving
department where one needs to constantly find solutions for problems and being able to multitask is a must.
The procurement department comprises of a team of specialised individuals, experienced in their fields, the products, and services they manage. Reporting to our Head of Procurement, you will work closely with our current
suppliers and Business Development Managers discussing current brand activations and strategies along with further brand and product development on a per market basis.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Purchasing / Procurement of South African FMCG products with existing and new suppliers.
- Development of the company’s product range and sourcing of new products where requested.
- Negotiation of Pricing, Rebates and Settlement Discounts
- Negotiation and handling of claims.
- Handling the negotiation of Cycle deals, promotions, and POS material for relevant markets.
- Assisting the Head of Procurement with any other suppliers and duties related to procurement
We are looking for someone who has the following experience:- Extensive knowledge of South African FMCG market and suppliers
- Knowledge of International suppliers would be preferable
- At least 5 years’ experience in the procurement / buying field
- Centralised buying experience
- Maintaining and developing supplier relationships
- Price negotiations
- Experience in successfully negotiating claims, rebates, and settlement discounts
- Planning of cycle deals, promotions, and activity experience
- Experience in Exports would be preferable

Salary will be market related and based on current experience.
