JOB SUMMARY:
Ensure high standards of security, cleanliness and hygiene, as well as ensure safety and health regulations are met for the running of the establishment. The day to day running as well as special programmes and events are to be managed in accordance with all appropriate legal requirements.
The jobholder will coordinate the establishment’s invigilators to ensure the running of the facility as well as during programmes and events. Liaise with service providers to manage scheduled maintenance and repairs as needed as well as; manage equipment and asset registers and ordering consumables.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • Responsible for opening procedures of the company’s premises in line with security protocol on a daily basis.
  • Management of general cleaning services on the premises, including coordinating contracted cleaners, pest control, cleaning of parking areas and garden.
  • Manage the maintenance and pruning of the grounds and garden to upkeep the design and overall effect.
  • Liaise with service providers to oversee repairs and maintenance as well as manage service level agreements and contracts with said service providers.
  • Manage waste disposal systems including recycling stations and collections.
  • Support Management to ensure effective management of the daily operations, and act as Line Manager to junior staff.
  • Ensure that additional parking and security is arranged for special events.
  • Order cleaning materials and related consumables, with sufficient stock taking and waste management.
  • Order necessary staff uniform items and equipment as required.
  • Prepare a budget for facilities related expenditure and manage this budget to be submitted annually
  • Keep equipment and asset records up to date and manage tidiness of stock and storage areas.
  • Update floor plan and emergency plan in consultation with management team or Health and Safety Consultant when required.
  • Act as representative on the Occupational Health and Safety Committee as well as perform record keeping, related duties attend quarterly meetings and inspections.
  • Act as representative on the company’s Security Committee.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Grade 12 Matric certificate
  • 2-3 year Diploma in Facilities Management, Project Management or other appropriate qualification preferred.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
  • Working knowledge of CCTV camera systems
  • Working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Competently use MS Office to enhance effectiveness
  • Excellent communication skills in both Afrikaans and English
  • Good writing and language skills in both Afrikaans and English
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience
  • Valid Driver’s licence
  • Own transport
