JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Portfolio Manager: Facilities, the Facilities Manager will plan and manage the operation and
maintenance of Ithala’s facilities and plants to prolong their life cycle and achieve a high level of customer
satisfaction.
The Facilities Manager will:
• Conduct building and garden maintenance.
• Manage and maintain transport services.
• Manage cleaning services.
• Manage physical assets.
• Keep assets register accurately.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance costs.
• Manage budget.
• Manage service level agreements.
• Manage human resources.
The following minimum requirements should be met in order to be considered:
Qualifications:
• National Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Building/Mechanical/Civil/Quantity Surveying.
• Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Business Management/Administration is advantageous.
• Professional/candidate registration with SAFMA or a similar professional registration body will be
advantageous.
Experience:
• A minimum of 3 years experience in facilities management/contract supervision/project management of
which 2 years should have been in managing a team.
Requisite Functional Competencies:
• Knowledge of Facilities Management Software and Ms. Projects and micro / win Q.S. packages.
• Ability to identify all maintenance issues.
• Good technical skills.
• Technical proficiency in the integration of architectural and engineering drawings and documentation.
• Budget process and costing techniques.
• Computer literacy, i.e Ms. Word and Spreadsheet, Crystal Report Writer, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of Ithala’s Code of Business Conduct.
• Knowledge of policies and procedures relevant to Property Management.
• Ability to work extended hours, days, and weekends on an occasional basis.
• Valid code B Driver’s license
