Factory Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client is in the Engineering sector based in Pietermartizburg and is looking for a Factory   / Production Manager to join their team. 

 A professional who oversees the manufacturing process within the company ensuring that production lines run without any problems and minimum downtime.

Candidates applying for this role must meet the job spec requirements and will be able to work in Pietermaritzburg.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Qualification:

• Matric
• Relevant degree in Production/Operations/Engineering
• 5-10 Years manufacturing experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft packages

• Proven experience in a production management role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and health and safety standards.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and make data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure the availability of resources such as raw materials, equipment, and manpower.
• Optimize production efficiency and minimize downtime.

• Supervise and lead Forman’s.
• Train, motivate, and evaluate Forman’s to ensure high levels of productivity and morale.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

• Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure the production of high-quality products.
• Monitor and analyse production data to identify areas for improvement in quality and efficiency.
• Take corrective actions to address quality issues promptly.

• Develop and manage the production budget by estimating cost and preparing budgets.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards.
• Monitor expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

• Enforce and promote a safe working environment in accordance with relevant regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and address any potential hazards promptly.

• Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance overall productivity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations.
