Proficient in AutoCAD

Role Overview

Our client, a well-established organisation within the shopfitting and wood manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Factory Manager to lead their production and manufacturing operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily factory activities, production planning, quality control, operational efficiency, and staff management. This role requires a proactive leader who can drive productivity, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with client specifications.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric.
AutoCAD and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Operations. Management or similar qualification advantageous.
3-5 years’ experience in a Factory or Production Management role.
Management of over 40 people is non-negotiable.
Experience within the Shopfitting, Wood Manufacturing or Joinery industry is non-negotiable.
Strong understanding of production planning and manufacturing processes.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Valid driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities :

Manage and oversee all factory and production activities.
Ensure production schedules are met according to project deadlines.
Coordinate workflow between Production, Supervisors, Project Managers, Procurement and Installation teams.
Drive productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement within the factory.
Monitor and control manufacturing costs, waste and material usage (understand costings & supply chain).
Ensure quality control processes and standards are maintained throughout production.
Manage factory staff performance, discipline, training and development.
Ensure accurate interpretation of technical drawings and production requirements.
Oversee material planning and ordering for projects.
Ensure machinery, equipment and factory maintenance is managed effectively.
Maintain safe working practices and compliance within the factory environment.
Troubleshoot production challenges and implement practical solutions quickly.
Assist in implementing systems and processes to improve operational performance.
