As a Financial Accountant, you will add value by strengthening financial controls, managing the month-end close process, and ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger through to trial balance. You will play a key role in supporting financial reporting and compliance, while contributing insights that reinforce the organisation’s financial backbone and drive efficiency across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
The Financial Accountant will be responsible for the full scope of day-to-day
accounting and financial processing activities, including:
- Preparing and reviewing journal entries to ensure accurate and complete general ledger records
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolving reconciling items timeously
- Preparing monthly management accounts, including supporting schedules and variance analysis
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of tax returns (VAT, income tax, and provisional tax) and related reconciliations
- Supporting internal and external audit processes by managing audit requests, compiling audit files, and ensuring timely submission of required documentation
- Assisting with the collection and preparation of data for sustainability and ESG reporting
- Supporting regulatory and compliance reporting requirements where applicable
- Assisting with ad hoc finance projects such as cost analysis, profitability analysis, and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications :- Matric (Grade 12)
- BCom Accounting degree
- Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles
- 0 - 2 years’ post-articles experience
Skills and Competencies :- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Analytical and problem-solving ability to investigate variances and discrepancies
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of IFRS
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Effective time management, especially during month-end and audit cycles
- High level of integrity and professional ethics
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Proactive and solutions-driven mindset
- Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and financial modelling
- Experience working with ERP systems and handling large data sets
- Understanding of tax compliance and statutory reporting requirements
- Basic knowledge of ESG and sustainability reporting frameworks (advantageous).
