Finance Accountant

SUMMARY:
Our client based in Midrand is looking for a Finance Accountant to join their Finance Department. This will be a twelve month(12 month) fixed term period only. 

The successful candidate will have:

EDUCATION:

• Matric qualification essential
• Relevant Accounting degree – BCOM / BCOMPT preferable
• Vast experience in VAT and Tax for Southern African Countries
• Extensive tax related experience is required (with Zambian tax is a huge bonus)
• At least 5 years experience
• Good all round knowledge of local, corporate and income taxes, local GAAP and US GAAP.

POSITION INFO:
Job Responsibilities:
Assist with the completion of the IT14SD returns for local revenue services.
 Responsible for the preparation of the AFS for South Africa and Zambia.
Assist with the review of the Tax Computation prepared by Deloitte for South Africa, and assisting BDO for Zambia calculation.
Responsible for the management of SARS Efiling with regards to VAT/EMP201/EMP501 notifications
Prepare all the VAT returns for South Africa, submit to SARS and responsible for VAT Reviews/Audits and follow up on requests for supporting documentation. Ensuring that the filing and payment is done on time.
Prepare Withholding Tax Return Monthly for Zambia, sent completed reconciliation with POP to BDO for submission to the ZRA
Prepare VAT Return Monthly for Zambia, sent completed reconciliation with POP (if payable) to BDO for submission to the ZRA. Responsible for VAT Reviews/Audits and timeous submission of documents
Prepare the monthly Payroll Taxes return for Zambia, sent the completed reconciliation with POP to BDO for submission to the ZRA.
Prepare and update One Source on a quarterly basis with all the reconciliations and information requested.
Preparation all the monthly Lease journals according the new IFRS requirements and US GAAP, the monthly reconciliation relating to all the lease accounts and ensure that all accounts are reconciled accordingly.
Assist with all ad-hoc requests for information from EMEA and Local Finance Management
Complete all One Stream reconciliations assigned
Responsible for the Reconciliation of the Fixed Asset Register.
Ensure that all new assets are added in accordance with Company Policy
Ensure that all the relevant documents are obtained for the addition of assets.
Ensure that all assets written off / scrapped is done in accordance with Company policy.
Ensure that all the relevant documents (approvals) are obtained for the written off / scrap of the asset.
Preparation of the monthly Audit and tax accruals
Assist with the completion of all SOX forms on the portal.
Support with External and Internal Audits.
Support with SOX requirements/ testing / submissions.
Assist with all ad-hoc queries
