As the Finance Executive, you will lead all financial reporting, operational finance, and business analysis activities for the division. You’ll oversee internal and external financial reporting processes, drive finance transformation initiatives, and provide leadership that supports the organisation’s strategic and commercial goals.

Duties:

• Lead internal & external reporting processes
• Drive IFRS compliance, internal control, and process integrity
• Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual financials are accurate and insightful
• Produce actionable business intelligence, financial ratios, and benchmarking reports
• Provide performance insights, trend analysis, and margin improvement strategies
• Drive the annual budget and rolling forecast processes
• Align strategic projects with financial targets
• Evaluate cost drivers and capacity planning
• Enhance efficiencies across procurement, collections, and compliance
• Ensure transactional operations support growth targets
• Partner with Corporate Finance on M&A valuations and feasibility studies
• Deliver robust financial models and business cases to EXCO & the Board
• Provide financial leadership on new business, partnerships, and pricing
• Lead a high-performing finance team
• Manage external audits and mitigate financial risk
• Champion compliance across finance operations

• Matric (Grade 12)
• BCom Degree
• BCom Honours / CTA
• CA(SA)

• Completed SAICA Articles
• Minimum 10 years post-qualification experience
• At least 5 years at a senior managerial level
• Proven experience in a regulated financial services firm
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability
• Experience in life insurance or long-term insurance will be advantageous
• Track record in financial planning, risk, governance, and team management

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards
• Expertise in internal and external audit processes
• Advanced budgeting and forecasting capabilities
• Strategic financial planning and risk management
• Strong cost management and profitability analysis skills
• Ability to perform business performance and competitor analysis
• Skilled in financial modelling and feasibility studies
• Experience in mergers & acquisitions and investment evaluations
• Commercial awareness in a regulated financial services environment
• Deep understanding of insurance industry financial operations
• Proficient in internal controls and governance frameworks
• Change management and process improvement expertise
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities
• Ability to lead and mentor high-performing finance teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong stakeholder engagement and presentation skills
• High level of analytical thinking and problem-solving

• Knowledge of procurement, COIDA, and premium collections
