POSITION INFO:
Our client is an established business operating within the manufacturing, automotive and engineering space, with exposure to both South African and cross-border markets. This is not a role limited to month-end reporting; you will take ownership of credit, risk, portfolio performance and compliance while working closely with senior stakeholders and commercial teams. You will have the opportunity to lead a team, influence deal decisions and manage a function that sits at the intersection of finance, risk and commercial strategy. Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations, performance and risk of the finance department. Manage credit assessments, financial analysis, credit scoring and client risk grading. Monitor arrears, defaults, recoveries, portfolio exposure and risk mitigation strategies. Manage internally and externally funded portfolios across South Africa and cross-border markets. Review credit limits, approvals, portfolio performance and deal structures. Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal documentation and audit requirements. Prepare and present financial and departmental performance reports to senior management. Lead, mentor and develop the team while partnering with sales on strategic opportunities and client engagements. Job Experience and Skills Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar Finance Manager, Credit Manager or senior finance role. Experience within manufacturing, automotive or engineering environments would be highly advantageous. Proven experience managing credit risk, financial analysis, portfolio performance and compliance frameworks. Exposure to cross-border finance and managing clients or portfolios across different jurisdictions. Strong understanding of credit assessments, bank statement analysis, risk grading and deal structuring. Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
