SUMMARY:
Our client, a Proudly South African manufacturing concern, currently seeks a Finance Controller/Manager, who will report directly to the Owner.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Job Requirements:

B.Com (Accounting) or a relevant 3-year Degree/Diploma.
CA (SA) or professional membership (CIMA) pref.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, textile preferable.
Sage Pastel.

Responsibilities:

Stock Management:

Inventory management
Prepare margin analysis
Report on waste and scrap analysis
Costing
Oversee and manage floor stock counts
Continually monitor, manage stock and WIP issues

Reporting:

Prepare monthly management accounts
Prepare management report pack within due dates
Prepare budgets and forecasts
Undertake strategic analysis and perform strategic planning

Maintenance of the General Ledger:

Monthly recons, including back-up schedules in support of all balance sheet accounts
Complete half year-end and year-end schedules as required in support of specified general ledger accounts
Manage debtors and creditors
Reconcile bank statements

Journals:

Prepare journal and accrual entries
Capture journal and accrual, including routine monthly transactions, corrections and provisions, ensuring correct account allocations
Review of weekly CMT reconciliations and payments

VAT Reconciliation:

Prepare and reconcile divisional VAT recon monthly
Assist with IT14SD
PAYE submissions

Audit:

Assist with internal & external audits.
