POSITION INFO:
Financial Manager
Reports to: Managing Director
The main Key Performance Areas are as follows:
- Responsibility for the full financial function of the company.
- Setup and maintain a strong system of internal controls.
- Record transactions, process adjustments and journal entries, run reports
- Preparation and presentation of monthly Board Packs
- Preparation and presentation of Annual Financial Statements
- Prepare and submit Income Tax and VAT returns, follow up with queries and outstanding issues
- Prepare all monthly reconciliations, eg. bank, debtors, creditors, inventory, etc. and be able to explain and resolve all reconciling items
- Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards, Companies Act, Income Tax Act, VAT Act and Corporate Governance requirements
- Preparation and presentation of budgets
- Preparation and presentation of consolidated financial information
- Manage cash flows
- Maintain statutory records
- Preparation of operating expense requests as and when required
- Oversee monthly and quarterly assessments and forecasts of organization''s financial performance against budget, financial and operational goals. Oversee short and long-term financial and managerial reporting.
- Ensure implementation of and compliance with principles of Corporate Governance from a financial perspective.
- Ensure the development of and compliance with financial work processes
- Monitor financial planning and financial reports
- Formally evaluate the financial performance of the organization
- Managing day to day processing of accounts receivable and payable

- Experience with an accounting system (eg. Pastel): able to capture transactions, process adjustments and journal entries, run reports
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Good at report writing
- Up to date with the latest accounting standards and best practices
- Thorough understanding of legal and tax aspects, including Companies Act, Income Tax Act, and VAT Act
Education & Qualifications:
- B.Comm with Articles
- 3 - 7 years FM (post articles) experience
Salary - R900 000 - R1.2 mill pa
