POSITION INFO:
A premier, expanding giant within the South African financial services arena is looking to appoint a commercially sharp Finance Manager to lead a core division at their corporate head office. This position is tailored specifically for a Chartered Accountant who has already secured foundational commercial experience and is looking to scale their career into a senior leadership capacity that directly shapes business performance. Operating as a key business partner, you will hold full operational accountability for multi-entity reporting while guiding a dedicated accounting team. Key Responsibilities: Multi-Entity Management Intelligence: Command the comprehensive monthly reporting cycle across various corporate entities, generating deep-dive variance analysis, performance analytics, and strategic executive commentary. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Direct, mentor, and elevate the professional performance of a skilled team of Finance Supervisors and corporate Accountants. Forward Planning & Capital Advisory: Direct annual budgetary frameworks, rolling forecasting indices, cash flow tracking, and long-term financial planning initiatives. Ledger Quality & Balance Sheet Integrity: Oversee general ledger health, verify intercompany balances, and evaluate complex balance sheet reconciliations to protect structural data validity. Taxation, Governance & Audit Oversight: Supervise corporate VAT calculations, ensure absolute regulatory and IFRS compliance, and act as the principal point of contact for internal and external auditors. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with senior executives and operational managers to deliver high-touch financial insights that support crucial business developments. Job Experience and Skills Required: Professional Qualification: Registered Chartered Accountant CA(SA) with active, mandatory SAICA membership. Experience Runway: A minimum of 1 to 3 years of post-qualification commercial accounting experience (strictly outside of public practice or auditing firms). Leadership Foundation: Proven, reference-backed experience managing, mentoring, and developing subordinate finance personnel. Sector & Systems Depth: Prior exposure operating within the financial services, corporate banking, or insurance sectors is highly advantageous; experience navigating Sage X3 or similar tier-one ERP platforms is beneficial.
