Finance Manager - Consumer Lending

POSITION INFO:
They are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Financial Manager to take full responsibility for managing the financial performance of their loan products. This role involves overseeing the product P&L, developing robust financial models, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory frameworks. You’ll play a key role in guiding business decisions, improving processes, and working cross-functionally to achieve financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the loan product P&L, ensuring profitability and alignment with business objectives.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models and forecasts, covering demand, revenue, and risk.
• Manage and oversee reconciliations across bank accounts, systems, and revenue streams.
• Review and approve bad debt write-offs in line with company policies.
• Oversee the refund approval process, ensuring adherence to internal controls.
• Collaborate with the FP&A team to align forecasts and maintain consistency across financial projections.
• Maintain and account for Year-to-Maturity (YTM) models on a monthly, annual, and audit basis.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements in all financial reporting.
• Oversee the operations of Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs), including reconciliations, invoicing, and financial record-keeping.
• Work closely with IT to ensure seamless integration of loan products with accounting systems.
• Partner with internal auditors to maintain strong financial controls and governance.

• BCom in Accounting or Finance (Honours preferred).
• 5–8 years’ experience in a similar finance role, ideally within a financial institution.
• Proven expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and P&L management.
• Solid understanding of accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams.
• Proficiency with financial systems and tools; experience with loan product integration advantageous.
