Finance Manager – Mozambique

POSITION INFO:
Our client, a growing logistics and distribution business operating across multiple Southern African markets, is looking for a Finance Manager to lead the finance function in Mozambique, a key strategic growth market for the group.
This is not a traditional back-office accounting role. The successful candidate will be a commercially minded, hands-on finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and enjoys being close to the business.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the finance function for the Mozambique operation
Ensure strong financial controls, governance, and compliance
Partner with operational teams to support commercial decision-making
Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
Oversee cash flow management and working capital optimisation
Drive financial visibility and performance across the business
Forex negotiations with the banks
Support regional leadership with strategic financial insights

Requirements

BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification
Proven experience in a commercial finance / finance manager role
Experience in logistics, distribution, automotive, or equipment sectors advantageous
Strong understanding of financial controls and operational finance
Ability to work hands-on in a dynamic, fast-moving business environment
Portuguese language skills advantageous
A proactive, resilient individual with strong problem-solving ability and grit
