Finance Manager: Operations

SUMMARY:
We require your expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices. Four to Six month contract initially.

POSITION INFO:
Position: Financial Manager: Operations / Projects / Factory and Warehouse
Location: Cape Town
Salary: R 100 000 to R 120 000 per month (depending on experience)

This is not a typical finance reporting and compliance role but is operationally focused to implement processes, controls and procedures to optimise and standardise warehouse activities and to support the roll out of a new system to manage warehouse and manufacturing activities. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing a warehouse optimisation and system implementation project in line with the company's policies, industry best practices, relevant laws and regulations. Assist with the setup, opening and recruitment for new warehouses across South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist the FD/COO to implement daily finance functions
• Implement and report on warehouse KPI's
• Position is purely process and system management
• Implement warehouse policies and procedures
• Implement compliance, risk and fraud process
• Optimise warehouse activities relating to goods receiving, incoming inspections, non-conforming stock, production kitting and finished goods distribution
• Implement stock management mechanisms
• Pro-actively ensure that optimal inventory levels are maintained across all warehouses
• Stock adjustments
• Stock movement, know what to transfer from the factory between warehouses
• Real time accurate data, what is coming in and what is going out
• Look at the production line, assess the process, implement a process where the business knows what to produce when
• Assist with roll out of new warehouse hardware and software
• Prepare month-end results, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Variance analysis
• Monitor stock, cycle counts (get on the ground and count so you know what process to implement)
• Inspect systems (good received system)
• Monitor and maintain an efficient cash flow
• Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service
• Address ad hoc queries from businesses and suppliers/customers where required

• Qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA) or CIMA essential
• 5+ years post articles experience in an operational Financial Management role
• Operational experience in a manufacturing / distribution environment will be advantageous.
