Duties:

• Maintain strong financial controls and execute the month-end close process.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger through to trial balance.
• Perform reconciliations for bank, debtors, and creditors monthly.
• Process and validate creditor invoices in Pastel, ensuring VAT compliance and accurate allocation.
• Prepare and distribute debtor invoices, implement annual increases, and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Load and manage payments for suppliers, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
• Perform monthly accruals, depreciation, income adjustments, and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Produce individual monthly management accounts, forecasts, and consolidated packs.
• Ensure all accounting treatments comply with IFRS and IAS standards
• Handle monthly VAT reconciliations and payments, assist with provisional tax and annual tax submissions.
• Liaise with SARS and external tax consultants to resolve queries.
• Support payroll-related processes and liaise with medical aid providers for staff benefits.
• Facilitate FSCA compliance, policy updates, CPD requirements, and quarterly compliance submissions
• Coordinate with auditors during external audit, prepare required reports, and assist with AFS notes.
• Maintain organized filing systems, complete KYC updates with banks, and ensure financial data integrity.
• Manage effective communication with internal teams, auditors, and external stakeholders.

• Matric (Grade 12)
• BCom or BCom Honours in Accounting or equivalent.
• Completion of external audit articles.
• Knowledge of tax regulations is advantageous.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a financial accounting role.
• Prior exposure to processing and reconciliation of accounts, tax compliance, and management accounts.
• Experience using Sage Pastel or Sage One accounting software.

• Intermediate proficiency in Excel with the ability to maintain spreadsheet integrity.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong understanding of IFRS and IAS reporting policies.
• Ability to work independently in a small team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
