POSITION INFO:
Our client is a listed mining and metals group with an exceptional growth trajectory and a bold vision for the future. With operations across South Africa the company is reshaping the mining sector, leveraging innovation, efficiency, and responsible production to deliver value from the ground up.
As the Financial Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in the full financial function, supporting reporting, consolidations, compliance, and performance analysis for a group with multiple active operations. You’ll work closely with the Financial Manager and CFO, gaining exposure to listed-company reporting standards, high-level decision-making, and strategic finance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for the head office and subsidiaries.
- Assist with group consolidations, the month-end close, and management reporting.
- Maintain accuracy and compliance in the general ledger and fixed asset management.
- Support the preparation of annual financial statements in line with IFRS and JSE-listed requirements.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
- Assist with audit preparation and liaise with External Auditors to ensure smooth reviews.
- Partner with operational finance teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of reporting across sites.
- Support tax and statutory submissions, ensuring full compliance with legislative requirements.
- Help implement and improve financial systems, controls, and reporting tools.
- Provide insight and support on capital expenditure tracking, project accounting, and internal controls.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the finance department.
Job Experience & Skills Required: - BCom Accounting / Finance Degree essential
- Newly qualified CA(SA) with 3–5 years of post-articles experience
- Exposure to mining, industrial, or manufacturing sectors beneficial
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of IFRS
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Pronto, Sage, or similar)
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a dynamic, multi-entity environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Driven, adaptable, and ready to contribute in a fast-evolving, growth-focused organisation
