POSITION INFO:
A well-established player in the financial services sector is seeking a Financial Accountant with solid VAT calculation, reconciliation, and tax compliance experience. This role offers hands-on exposure to debt and micro-lending operations, team leadership, and direct involvement in driving financial accuracy and compliance. You’ll oversee a small team, manage reporting processes, and ensure full alignment with SARS requirements and South African tax legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure accurate reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.
Perform VAT calculations, reconciliations, and submissions, ensuring full compliance with SARS and relevant tax laws.
Oversee income tax, PAYE, and other statutory returns.
Manage end-to-end general accounting and financial reporting processes.
Lead, mentor, and develop 2 direct reports.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education: BCom Degree (SAICA/SAIPA qualification advantageous).
Experience: Minimum 2 years post-articles OR 5 years finance experience without articles.
Financial services background required; debt or micro-lending experience advantageous.
Proven VAT calculation, reconciliation, and tax compliance expertise essential.
Strong in reconciliations, reporting, and SARS submissions.
Leadership experience managing at least 2 team members.
