POSITION INFO:
Company and Job Description:

Join a leading mining organisation operating in an asset-intensive and compliance-driven environment, where finance plays a key role in capital management, regulatory reporting, and project accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate month-end journals and ensure timely general ledger close
Review income statements and perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations
Assist with CAPEX tracking and asset register management
Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with South African tax legislation
Assist with income tax calculations and statutory submissions
Maintain strong accounting controls, policies, and supporting documentation
Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements
Operate ERP systems within a mining environment

Job Experience & Skills Required :

Solid VAT and audit experience
Strong understanding of South African tax legislation and IFRS
Asset management and CAPEX exposure
ERP system experience (SAP advantageous)
High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
Ability to manage strict compliance requirements
Management or supervisory experience (advantageous)
BCom Degree in Accounting (essential)
3–5 years’ experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role (essential)
Mining, resources, or asset-intensive industry experience (advantageous)
Management experience (advantageous)
