SUMMARY:
Are you a technically strong Financial Accountant with mining industry experience and a CIMA or AGA qualification?
This opportunity is ideal for a finance professional who understands the operational demands of the mining sector and enjoys working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full accounting function including general ledger, journals, and reconciliations
Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
Manage fixed assets and capital expenditure tracking within mining operations
Perform cost analysis and assist with budgeting and forecasting
Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal controls
Support statutory, tax, and audit requirements
Partner with operational teams to improve financial performance and cost efficiency

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education & Professional Qualification:

BCom Accounting
CIMA qualified or AGA (SA) registered is essential

Experience:

2 - 4 years as a Financial Accountant
Mining industry experience is essential
Strong understanding of operational and cost accounting within a mining environment

Technical Skills:

Strong IFRS knowledge
Experience working on ERP systems (SAP advantageous)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong reporting and reconciliation expertise
