SUMMARY:

Are you a handsâon and detailâdriven Financial Accountant with strong management accounting and operational finance exposure? A wellâestablished organisation in the mining sector is seeking a finance professional to join their Head Office team, offering excellent exposure to mine operations, strategic finance, and senior stakeholder engagement.

POSITION INFO:
This opportunity is with a stable and reputable organisation operating within the mining space, known for strong governance and financial discipline.

The role is based at their Head Office in Centurion and will involve full financial oversight for two operational mines in the North West.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the management accounting function, ensuring accurate reporting, effective cost control, and compliance with statutory and internal requirements. This role offers the opportunity to develop deep operational finance experience while working closely with senior management and mineâsite stakeholders in a fastâpaced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
Monthâend close processes, including GL journals and reconciliations
Financial reporting and detailed variance analysis
Budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for two operational mines
Liaising with internal and external auditors
Managing SARS submissions (VAT, EMP201, and EMP501)
General ledger maintenance and balance sheet reconciliations
Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
Providing financial insight and support to operational teams
Utilizing ERP systems and driving process improvements

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:
- BCom Accounting (essential)
- Articles completed will be an added advantage
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years’ relevant management accounting experience
- Experience within Mining, Construction, or Manufacturing environments preferred
Skills:
- ERP system experience essential
- SAGE Accounting experience advantageous
- Strong Excel and reporting capability
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
