Company and Job Description: As a Financial Accountant, you'll become part of a dynamic finance team supporting a well established automotive operation with an extensive national footprint. With over 110 dealerships serviced and supplied , this environment offers exposure to a high volume, fast-paced business where accuracy, efficiency, and commercial insight are essential. This is more than a traditional accounting role, it's an opportunity to gain hands on experience in a complex automotive environment where your work directly supports the financial performance of multiple dealership operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing insights that support business decisions across the organisation. This opportunity is ideal for a newly qualified SAIPA professional or an ambitious accountant with 1-3 years' experience who is ready to take ownership, grow their skills, and build a long-term career within the automotive industry. Key Responsibilities: You'll be responsible for bringing clarity to the numbers that drive business decisions, ensuring accuracy across financial reporting, reconciliations, stock, and fixed assets while helping the business understand what's happening behind the figures. Your responsibilities will include: Owning the month-end process and ensuring financial deadlines are consistently achieved Preparing and reviewing financial reports and management accounts Performing detailed balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations Investigating and resolving stock and fixed asset discrepancies Analysing financial variances and identifying the story behind the numbers Managing journals, accruals, and prepayments Supporting VAT, tax, and statutory compliance requirements Assisting with internal and external audit processes Maintaining strong financial controls and data accuracy Using Excel to streamline reporting, identify trends, and improve efficiencies Supporting finance projects and ad-hoc reporting requirements Job Experience & Skills Required : BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance (essential) Newly qualified SAIPA professionals encouraged to apply 1-3 years' experience within a Financial Accountant or similar role Automotive \/ Motor Industry experience advantageous Strong reconciliation skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills essential Strong working knowledge of Pivot Tables and V-Lookups Experience working with large datasets advantageous Knowledge of Drive IA advantageous Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work effectively within a deadline-driven environment Apply now!
