POSITION INFO:
Company and Job Description: Join a well-established coal mining operation north of Johannesburg, where finance plays a critical role in supporting production, cost control, and operational decision-making. This is an on-site Financial Accountant role for someone who understands the pace and pressure of a mining environment and is ready to step into a business where the numbers carry real weight. You'll work closely with operations and leadership in a high-performance setting where accuracy, ownership, and responsiveness are non-negotiable. If you're looking for an immediate opportunity in a business that values strong finance support at the heart of its operations, this role is worth serious attention. Key Responsibilities: Support month-end close and financial reporting processes. Prepare and review journals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Assist with management accounts, variance analysis, and cost reporting. Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with internal standards. Partner with operational teams to improve reporting quality and decision-making. Job Experience and Skills Required: BCom degree. 2-3 years' post-articles experience in financial accounting. Mining or other heavy-industry exposure will be advantageous. Strong technical accounting ability and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard computer packages.
