POSITION INFO:
Company and Job Description: A growing infrastructure-focused organisation operating within the telecommunications sector is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join its finance team. The business operates within a rapidly evolving infrastructure environment, supporting the expansion and management of essential digital infrastructure. This creates an exciting opportunity for a hands-on accountant who enjoys working across the full finance function and wants to contribute to a growing business. The successful candidate will work across financial accounting, reporting, audit, controls, and operational finance while also providing support and guidance to the broader finance team. Key Responsibilities: Manage the full finance function from transaction processing through to financial reporting Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements Perform general ledger, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations Process journals and manage month-end close Prepare VAT and statutory submissions Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes Maintain strong financial controls and accounting records Provide financial analysis and reporting to management Supervise and support junior finance team members Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and efficiencies Job Experience and Skills Required: Qualifications: Degree or National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field Completed articles advantageous Experience: Approximately 10 years' accounting experience ideal, although negotiable for the right candidate Strong full finance function experience Previous audit experience essential Management or team leadership experience advantageous Experience within telecommunications, infrastructure, engineering, or a similar environment advantageous Skills & Competencies: Strong financial accounting and reporting skills Excellent reconciliation and month-end experience Strong understanding of audit and financial controls Advanced Microsoft Excel Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Good communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to lead, mentor, and support finance staff Hands-on approach with the ability to work independently Location: Sandton Important: Candidates should be based within a reasonable commuting distance of Sandton Why consider this opportunity?
